§ 1-5.01 CITATION PROCEDURE.
   Pursuant to Cal. Penal Code § 836.5, all officers and employees of the city designated by the City Administrator or by ordinance of the city as having the duty to enforce a statute or ordinance of the city may arrest a person without a warrant whenever such officer or employee has reasonable cause to believe that the person to be arrested has committed a misdemeanor in such officer's or employee's presence which is a violation of a statute or ordinance which such officer or employee has the duty to enforce. In any case in which a person is arrested pursuant to this section and Cal. Penal Code § 836.5, the terms and provisions of Cal Penal Code § 836.5 relating to the preparation of a written notice to appear and release of the person on his or her promise to appear shall apply.
