§ 36.02  HEALTH INSURANCE PROVISIONS.
   (A)   Monthly contribution toward insurance coverage.
      (1)   Upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, the County Board approves a monthly contribution toward health, dental, and life insurance from:
         (a)   Each employee of county government not covered by a union contract; and
         (b)   Each recipient of health, dental, and/or life insurance coverage.
      (2)   This contribution shall be in the amount equal to 10% of the total premium for the aforementioned coverage.
   (B)   Coverage ceases on termination. It is the policy of the county that health insurance coverage for employees of the county ceases upon termination of employment unless otherwise provided for by applicable federal law, state law, county ordinance or resolution, or other action of the County Board or placed on any type of unpaid leave by the employer.
   (C)   Continuation for retirees. The County Board agrees to offer continuation coverage for health insurance for retirees of the county according to the following terms:
      (1)   Employee attains age 55;
      (2)   Employee has at least eight continuous years of service to the county;
      (3)   Employee pays the health insurance premium;
      (4)   Employee pays the deductible which is in effect for the county policy;
      (5)   Health insurance continuation coverage ends when employee is 65 years old; and
      (6)   Other conditions as are set out in “Notice for Continuation Coverage” to the employee must be agreed upon by employee.
