The State Environmental Protection Act (45 ILCS 5/39.2) gives the power for approving or disapproving requests for siting pollution control facilities in unincorporated areas of the county to the County Board, and establishes the criteria that can be utilized in reviewing siting requests and the process by which requests are handled. All rules and regulations herein are adopted by the County Board, pursuant to the provisions of the State Environmental Protection Act (415 ILCS 5/39.2).
