§ 150.08 SERVICE SPECIFICATIONS.
   All newly installed electrical services shall be in conformance with the current edition of the National Electrical Code and with the following.
   (A)   N.E.C. 230.2 Number of services – only one service drop or lateral shall be permitted unless written approval by the Control Authority is obtained for the conditions (a) through (d) of Article 230.2.
   (B)   N.E.C. 230.43 Service – entrance conductors shall be installed in accordance with the applicable requirements of this code covering the type of wiring method used and shall be limited to the following methods:
      (1)   Rigid metal conduit;
      (2)   Intermediate metal conduit;
      (3)   Rigid nonmetal conduit;
      (4)   Any other method described shall have written consent of the Control Authority and local utility company.
   (C)   N.E.C. 230.70(a) Location – the service disconnecting means shall be installed at a readily accessible location either outside of a building or structure, or inside nearest point of entrance of the service conductors, but not to exceed ten feet.
   (D)   The electrical service shall be bonded to the cold water piping with a jumper around the water meter where the cold water piping is of metal construction.
   (E)   Sizing of service entrance conductors shall be one of the following:
      (1)   To main breaker with no reduction of ampere rating;
      (2)   To approved calculated load where multiple disconnects are used, with no reduction of ampere rating;
      (3)   To rated buss of equipment when no calculated load is provided with no reduction of ampere rating;
      (4)   PVC risers up utility poles shall be Schedule 80;
      (5)   Metal elbows and conduits at utility poles and building service shall be connected to an effective grounding path by the electrical contractor and installed as per N.E.C. 250.80; or
      (6)   All new nonresidential electric services shall have a fault study provided using the Inspection Department form and be approved before an electrical permit is issued. Services fed from a 50 KVA or less transformer will not require the study be done, but the transformer size and address shall be listed on the form and signed by the preparer.
