147.08 DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION.

   (a)    There shall be, and there is hereby, the position of Director of Parks and Recreation, who shall be the head of the Parks and Recreation Department and shall serve under the general supervision of the Mayor, on the advise of the Parks and Recreation Commission and subject to confirmation of the majority of the members elected to Council.

   (b)    The Director of Parks and Recreation shall have knowledge of municipal park and recreation operations, budgetary and supervision skills. The Director of Parks and Recreation shall serve until removal as provided herein, or upon written resignation.

   (c)    The Director of Parks and Recreation shall, under general supervision of the Mayor, supervise the Parks and Recreation Department and shall manage, conduct, and supervise all operations of Municipal parks and recreation areas and facilities.

   (d)    The Director of Parks and Recreation may be removed by the Mayor, if a majority of the members elected to Council approve such removal, by a vote at a regularly scheduled meeting of Council. The Director of Parks and Recreation may be removed by Council by a three-fourths affirmative vote of the members elected to Council.
