147.02 MEMBERS; TERM; REMOVAL.
(a) The Parks and Recreation Commission shall consist of six electors of the Municipality, not holding other municipal office, who shall be appointed by the Mayor, and confirmed by the majority of the members elected to Council, and shall be composed initially of the members of the Parks and Recreation Board whose terms shall continue.
(b) Each member of the Parks and Recreation Commission shall serve for a term of five years, which shall continue consecutively from those first appointed to the Parks and Recreation Board, where the terms of those first appointed expired on the dates indicated below:
(1) January 1, 1979;
(2) January 1, 1980;
(3) January 1, 1981;
(4) January 1, 1982;
(5) January 1, 1983;
(6) January 1, 1989. (Ord. 109-1989. Passed 12-14-89.)
(c) Any member of the Parks and Recreation Commission can be removed by the Mayor if a majority of the members elected to Council approve such removal by a vote at a regularly scheduled meeting of Council. Any member of the Parks and Recreation Commission can be removed by Council by a two-thirds affirmative vote of the members elected to Council. (Ord. 94-2018. Passed 9-13-18.)
(d) The Commission shall include one member of Council elected by Council annually. Such member has the right to vote.
