1501.01 DEFINITIONS.
   (a)    "Explosive" means and includes any chemical compound or mechanical mixture that is commonly used or intended for the purpose of producing an explosion, that contains any oxidizing and combustible units, or other ingredients in such proportions, quantities, or packing, that an ignition by fire, by friction, by concussion, by percussion, or by detonator of any part of the compound or mixture may cause such a sudden generation of highly heated gases that the resultant gaseous pressures are capable of producing destructive effects on contiguous objects or of destroying life or limb.
   (b)    "Magazine" means any building or structure used for the storage of explosives.
   (c)    "Highway" means any public street or public road.
   (d)    "Railway" means and includes any steam, electric, or other railroad or railway which carries passengers for hire.
   (e)    "Public conveyance" means and includes any railroad car, street car, cab, but, airplane or other vehicle which is carrying passengers for hire.
   (f)    "Small arms ammunition" means any shotgun, rifle, pistol or revolver cartridges.
   (g)    "Manufactured articles" shall not be classified as explosives when the individual units contain explosives in such limited quantities, of such nature, or in such packing, that it is impossible to procure a simultaneous or a destructive explosion of such units, to the injury of life, limb or property by fire, by friction, by concussion, by percussion or by detonator, such as fixed ammunition for small arms, firecrackers, or safety fuse matches.
   (h)    "Agricultural purposes" means explosives used by agriculturists on their own farms for tree planting, subsoiling, ditching, boulder breaking or other purposes exclusively agricultural, but not for quarrying or mining.
   (i)    "Efficient artificial barricade" means an artificial mound or properly revetted wall of earth of a minimum thickness of not less than three feet or an equivalent artificial protection.
   (j)    "Person" means any firm, partnership, corporation and joint-stock association, as well as a natural person.
