549.10 REGULATING DISCHARGE OF FIREARMS.
(a) No person shall discharge a cannon, rifle, gun, revolver, pistol or other firearm within the City. However, this section shall not apply to members of the Police Department in the lawful discharge of their duty or pursuant to a authorized training mission, to members of any military company when engaged in drilling or target practice under the command or direction of an officer thereof, or to the use of firearms in the lawful defense of person or property. For purposes of this section, “firearm” means any deadly weapon capable of expelling or propelling one or more projectiles by the action of an explosive or combustible propellant.
(b) No person shall discharge an air rifle or air pistol within 300 feet of any residence, railroad right of way, street, building, utility lines, utility poles, structure, or on any public place within the City.
(c) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
