541.15 UNLAWFUL USE OF HYDRANT.

   (a)   No person, not being an authorized agent, employee or officer of the City, shall open, close or interfere with any fire hydrant, valve, regulator, gate, curb cock, or any other appurtenance of a water main service pipe or other pipe or apparatus, used or intended for the conducting of water, or tap, open or make any unauthorized connection with any such water main or pipe. But, provided, that nothing herein contained shall apply to anything done by, or under authority of the Fire Department.

   (b)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
