A. Created; Appointment; Compensation: There is hereby created the position of parks and recreation director (the "director") who shall be appointed by the village manager pursuant to qualifications approved by the village manager. The salary of the director shall be as determined by the village manager from time to time and approved by the corporate authorities.
B. Duties: The director, among other duties, under the general direction of the board of trustees, the village president, and the village manager, shall be responsible for planning, directing, promoting, scheduling and managing all village activities utilizing the recreation center and village parks. The director shall oversee, operate, and manage the recreation department and/or a parks and recreation department, as developed by the director and the village, and all employees and volunteers therein. The director shall serve as a liaison to the village recreation board and shall perform such duties as are assigned to him or her from time to time by the village manager.
