One of the three (3) members of the board shall be a representative citizen of the employer class, one shall be a representative citizen chosen from the employee class, and the third shall be a representative citizen not identified with the employee class. Each shall possess the qualifications required of other officers of the Village and shall take the oath of office. Members shall not be subject to removal, except for cause, upon written charges, and after an opportunity to be heard within thirty (30) days in his or their own defense, before a regular meeting of the Corporate Authorities. A majority vote of the Corporate Authorities shall be required to remove any such member from office. (1965 Code § 2-7-4; amd. 2009 Code)
