A. Attaching Sticker Or Plate To Vehicle:
1. Upon the issuance of a license under this chapter, the Village Clerk shall deliver to the applicant a decal bearing a number and the name of the class to which the vehicle in question belongs and the year for which the license is issued, and it shall be the duty of such applicant to affix such decal in a conspicuous place on the right side of such vehicle where it can be easily seen; which sticker shall indicate the class to which the vehicle belongs and the year for which such license was issued; and the sticker shall be fastened upon the lower inside corner of the windshield on the right hand side thereof.
2. It shall be unlawful for any licensed motor vehicle, although duly licensed, to be used upon the streets, avenues, or alleys of the Village unless such sticker is attached thereto.
3. It shall be the duty of the applicant for a license under this chapter to use a motor bicycle or motor tricycle upon the streets, avenues, or alleys to affix such license upon such vehicle in such a position that the number thereof may be clearly visible.
B. Issuance Of Duplicate License; Fee:
1. If and whenever a motor vehicle license issued by the Village Clerk by virtue of this chapter is lost or has been destroyed, or when the motor vehicle for which the license is issued is sold or destroyed, a duplicate thereof shall be issued by the Village Clerk to the person to whom such motor vehicle license was originally issued; provided, that application for such duplicate license shall be made in writing by the person to whom the original was issued, which application shall be accompanied by the affidavit of the applicant stating his/her name, age, address, place and conditions under which such motor vehicle sold, and to whom, or that the same was destroyed, the amount of the license fee paid therefor by him/her, date of payment, and if destroyed, the manner of its destruction. 2. The applicant shall pay to the Village Clerk a fee of five dollars ($5.00) for the issuance of the duplicate license sticker. Such a license sticker so issued as a duplicate shall be plainly marked as such. (1965 Code § 10-14-6; amd. Ord. 03-05-19-O1, 3-5-2019)
