8-3-3: REGISTRY; ISSUANCE OF TAGS:
   A.   Registry: The village clerk shall keep a complete registry, in a book to be kept for that purpose, of all licensed dogs and cats, describing the same by name, breed, color and sex, and shall also enter therein the name and address of the owner and the number of the license tag. (1965 Code § 9-7-32)
   B.   Tags: The clerk shall provide, each and every year, such number of tags as may be necessary (the shape to be changed each year), having stamped thereon the year for which the license fee is paid and the number of the tag, and he shall deliver one of such tags, numbered to correspond with the registry number of the dog or cat, to the person who paid the license fee upon such dog or cat.    C.   Duplicate Tag: If it appears that a license tag was lost, stolen or unlawfully taken from any dog or cat, and for which proof, satisfactory to the clerk, that such dog or cat was so licensed and that a good and substantial collar was put around its neck with a license tag attached thereto as provided in this chapter, the clerk shall, upon the payment to said clerk by such owner or keeper of such dog of a fee of one dollar ($1.00), deliver to such owner or keeper a duplicate license tag to correspond with the license tag originally issued.
