6-1-3: COMPOSITION OF DEPARTMENT:
   A.   Officers And Members:
      1.   Designated: One deputy chief, one assistant chief, three (3) captains, five (5) lieutenants and such additional members of the fire department as may from time to time be prescribed by the president and board of trustees shall constitute the remainder of the fire department, and they shall function as provided by the rules and regulations of the fire department.
      2.   Paid On Call Firefighters:
         a.   Appointment, Qualifications: The department shall be made up of paid on call firefighters, the number of which shall be determined by the president and board of trustees upon the chief's recommendation. The members shall be appointed by the chief. They shall be able bodied citizens. Determination of whether applicants for appointment are able bodied shall be made by the chief after a medical and physical examination has been made in a manner prescribed by the chief.
         b.   Suspension, Hearing: Any member of the department may be suspended or discharged from the department by the chief and/or a disciplinary review committee at any time that such action is deemed necessary for the good of the department. On written request of such member to the president and board of trustees, he shall be given a hearing, public or private, at his discretion, on the charges brought by the chief.
   B.   Inspectors: The fire chief may detail such members of the fire department as inspectors as shall from time to time be necessary. The fire chief shall recommend to the village the employment of technical inspectors who, when such authorization is made, shall work with the fire chief and the building department.
