§ 34.21 OFFICERS OF THE DEPARTMENT.
   (A)   Officers of the Department shall be elected from members in good standing. Their term of office will be for one year starting with the first meeting in January of each year.
   (B)   Elected officers and their duties are as follows.
      (1)   Fire Chief. The Fire Chief shall be the chief executive officer of the Department and responsible for the day to day operation including adequacy of equipment and supplies, assigning responsibilities, delegating authority and directing officers and members in the performance of their duties. The Chief is also responsible for appointing the four captains, training officer and for assigning duties to these positions as the Chief sees fit for the efficient operation of the Department.
      (2)   First Assistant Chief. The First Assistant Chief shall assist the Chief in the above-mentioned duties and any other duties that the Chief may direct and in the absence of the Chief will assume all the powers and duties of the Chief.
      (3)   Second Assistant Chief. The Second Assistant Chief shall assist the Chief in the above- mentioned duties and any other duties that the Chief may direct and in the absence of the Chief and First Assistant Chief will assume all the powers and duties of the Chief.
      (4)   Secretary. The Secretary shall have the custody and care of the records and minutes of the Department; shall keep or cause to be kept in a book for that purpose, a true and complete record of the Departments meetings; and handle other paperwork as required.
      (5)   Treasurer. The Treasurer shall keep complete records of the Department’s bank accounts and will be the legal custodian of all money that may from time to time come into possession of the Department and deposit said funds into the Department’s bank accounts as quickly as possible.
