(A) There is hereby imposed a $5 fee for any vehicle title inspection made by the Town Marshal, pursuant to I.C. 9-17-2-12. Such fee shall be payable by the person requesting such inspection, and it shall be paid at the time the inspection is made. Upon payment of such fee, the Town Marshal shall issue a receipt therefor.
(B) In the event that arrangements are made for an inspection other than at the Town Hall, and in the event that either the vehicle to be inspected or the person requesting such inspection is unavailable at the time and place agreed upon for the inspection, then the fee shall nonetheless be payable whether or not the inspection is completed. An additional $5 fee shall be payable at any subsequent time at which the inspection is actually made.
(C) Nothing herein shall be construed to require that the Town Marshal travel to any location outside of the corporate limits of the town to make any such inspection, but the Town Marshal is authorized to so travel, in his or her discretion.
(D) All fees collected pursuant to this section shall be payable to the town, shall be delivered forthwith upon receipt to the office of the Clerk-Treasurer, and shall be deposited in a vehicle inspection fund, said fund to be used only for law enforcement purposes.
