432.42 CENTER TURNING LANE.
   The center lane of all five-lane streets or roadways providing for motor vehicle or bicycle traffic in both directions is hereby reserved as a left turning lane only. Such lane shall not be entered except for making left turns as hereinafter provided except to pass other vehicles or bicycle traffic in the event of an emergency or when directed by a police officer. Entry into such lane for left turns shall not be made more than 200 feet from the point of turning except that such 200-foot entryway shall not be intersected by a street intersection from the left side. Except as hereinafter permitted, there shall be no travel or passing of other traffic in such turning lane except for the intersection of Mayfield Road with Edgefield Road and Ford Road to permit motor vehicles or bicycles to cross Mayfield Road from Edgefield Road to Ford Road or conversely.
   A sign conforming to the State Manual, and in accordance with Section 406.02, warning vehicle operators of the limitations of this section, shall be erected at appropriate points as determined by the Safety Director.
