(a) Generally. Salaries and compensation of all officers and employees of the City, including the Mayor, members of Council and the Judge of the Lyndhurst Municipal Court, shall be paid on a bi-weekly basis, payable every other Friday for the two-week period ending at 11:00 p.m. the preceding Saturday. When such Friday falls on a paid holiday, paychecks shall be issued on the day before. Such bi-weekly pay shall be computed for all salaried employees on the basis of dividing their per annum salary by 2,080, which amount is then multiplied by eighty. The following persons are exceptions to the above payment of compensation schedule: Members of boards and commissions, who shall be paid semiannually on the last scheduled pay in June and on the first scheduled pay in December.
(b) Former Employees. Retroactive pay adjustment shall be made only to those employees actively on the City payroll as of the date of passage of this section. Employees who have worked a portion of 1983 but who are no longer employed by the City are not entitled to retroactive pay adjustment, except that those who left employment due to death or retirement with pension benefits shall be entitled to retroactive pay adjustment.
(c) Jury Service. A full-time employee shall be entitled to compensation according to his or her salary, or for a forty-hour week in the case of hourly employees, in the amount received or authorized in his or her pay next preceding the first day of his or her jury service, for periods of jury service.
