141.05 AUXILIARY POLICE UNIT.
   (a)   In the Police Department, there is hereby created a body to be known as the "Auxiliary Police Unit" which shall be under the management control of the Chief of Police. The Director of Safety shall, subject to the approval of Council, promulgate rules and regulations for the organization, training, administration, control, duties and conduct of the Auxiliary Police Unit. Duty performance shall include civil defense duties as may be required by such Director or Council.

   (b)   Members of the Auxiliary Police Unit are not eligible for membership in the Police and Firemen's Disability and Pension Fund under Ohio R.C. Chapter 742, nor shall they be in the classified service of the Municipality.
 
   (c)   Members of the Auxiliary Police Unit shall be eligible for compensation under Ohio R.C. Chapter 4123, or under any ordinance, or to receive any benefits or compensations under any Act of Congress or under any law of the State.
