(a) Council establishes a policy prohibiting the hiring of family members, as defined below, of elected officials and department heads in the City into full-time positions unless such employment resulted from competitive examination pursuant to the Civil Service laws of the City.
(b) Council defines family members as parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, spouse and siblings, regardless of dependence or residence, and any other person related by blood or by marriage and residing in the same household.
(c) Council determines that any employee defined as a family member that is employed by the City on the effective date of this section is exempt from its provisions.
(d) Council determines that all available City positions shall be posted on the City’s website.
