1323.03 WIDTH IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS.
   In residential districts, a driveway exit-entrance shall be not less than eight feet at the street line with an apron tapered to a greater width at the curb line, as directed by the Director of Service and as hereinafter provided, as will permit safe turns for the average automobile into or from the public roadway. Two exit-entrance driveways may be installed on residential properties in lots having a street line frontage width of 100 feet or more where such exit- entrances are part of a continuous driveway on a radius in such residential property; otherwise, there shall be a single entrance-exit to residential property.
   In case of one driveway exit-entrance to residential property having a frontage of fifty feet or more, the maximum width of such driveway at the street line and curb line shall be twenty feet. In the case of residential lots having frontage of less than fifty feet or residential properties with two driveway exit-entrances, the width of the driveway exit-entrance at the street line shall not be more than twelve feet.
   Additions to or the widening of driveways may be permitted if approved by the Building Commissioner and the Architectural Board of Review. Any owner or his or her agent seeking such approval shall comply with the applicable requirements of Chapter 1353 (plans and drawings). Any permitted widening or addition shall not come closer than eighteen inches to a side yard property line in the case of an attached garage, nor shall the total existing and new driveway area occupy more than forty percent of the average width of the front yard area in any case.
