(a) The Councilmanic authorization for the making of expenditures in excess of the statutory amount authorized by Ohio R.C. 735.05 and 737.03, which sections also direct the advertising for bids, may be had by oral motion of Council. When bids are received pursuant to such advertising by Council in its capacity as a Board of Control, pursuant to Article III, Section 3, of the Charter and Ohio R.C. 733.22, it shall approve or disapprove the award of a contract by a particular department of the City. In the event that it approves the award of a contract, it shall authorize the Mayor to enter into such contract. This provision is provided in accordance with and in furtherance of the requirement of Article III, Section 5(f), of the Charter. (Ord. 75-110. Passed 12-1-75.)
(b) The Clerk of Council shall cause notice to be given in accordance with Section 123.02(a) of the Councilmanic authorization for such advertising for bids.
