3-2-3-6: TERM:
   A.   One Year: A license or permit is considered a personal privilege to the holder, and the term of the license or permit is for one year unless sooner revoked. When a valid license or permit is determined to be part of the estate of a deceased holder, the administrator or executor of the estate may exercise the privilege of the deceased under the license or permit until the expiration of the license or permit.
   B.   Less Than One Year: The term of a license or permit may be less than one year if specified by the town council to coincide with the annual date or dates set by the town council for consideration of license and permit issuance, renewal and transfer. For a license or permit issued by the town council for a period less than one year, the annual fee shall be prorated accordingly. Any licensee not attempting to renew a newly issued prorated license or permit valid for one year shall not be eligible for any license or permit authorized under this chapter for a period of two (2) years after the expiration of the prorated license or permit.
