6-4-6: ELUDING POLICE OFFICERS:
   A.   Prohibited: Any driver of a motor vehicle who wilfully fails or refuses to bring his vehicle to a stop, or who otherwise flees or attempts to elude a pursuing police vehicle, when given visual or audible signal to bring the vehicle to a stop, is guilty of a misdemeanor. The signal by the police officer may be by hand, voice, emergency light or siren. The officer giving such signal shall be in uniform, prominently displaying his badge of office, and his vehicle shall be appropriately marked showing it to be an official police vehicle.
   B.   Misdemeanor: Whoever knowingly or wilfully fails or refuses to stop or who otherwise flees or attempts to elude a pursuing police officer when given an audible or visual signal to stop is guilty of a misdemeanor. (1987 Code § 10.16.060)
   C.   Penalty: A violation of this section constitutes a class A misdemeanor punishable as set forth in subsection 1-4-1A1 of this code. (Ord. 2012-11, 1-17-2013)
