(a) “Peddler”, as used in this chapter, means any person who carries with him for the purpose of sale and immediate delivery, from house to house, goods, wares, merchandise, or personal property of any nature whatsoever.
(b) “Canvasser” or “solicitor” as used in this chapter, means any person, whether a resident of the Village or not, traveling either by foot, motor vehicle or any other type of conveyance, from place to place, from house to house, or from street to street or by contacting persons by the use of the telephone, taking or attempting to take orders for the sale of goods, wares, merchandise, or personal property of any nature whatsoever for future delivery, or for services to be furnished or performed in the future.
