This holiday provision shall not be applicable to the following positions: Part-Time policeman, Auxiliary policeman, janitorial employees or part-time employees in the Street Department, Utility man or part time employees in the sewage department, secretaries, Fire Chief, Assistant fire chief, volunteer firemen, zoning and building inspector, tax commissioner, mini bus driver and clerk and any and all other part time positions.
(a) Observed Holidays. Observed holidays shall be the following: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
(b) Holiday Pay. Any full time employee who works an observed Holiday shall be paid at the rate of his basic hourly rate plus one and one-half (1/1/2) his or her basic rate for the hours worked on said holiday, but in no event shall said full-time employee be paid holiday pay for more than one (1) eight (8) hours shift on any holiday. Part time employees who work an observed Holiday shall be paid one and one-half times the basic hourly rate of his/her position.
(c) Exceptions. Any employee who does not work his regular schedule the day before and the day after a holiday, unless for just cause, shall not be paid for the holiday. Any employee who is not scheduled to work on a designated holiday shall be paid his regular pay for said day. (Ord. 4067. Passed 6-9-22.)
