147.04  ORGANIZATION, CONTROL, HOURS AND BOND.
   (a)   The Police Department of the Village is hereby reorganized in that such Department shall be composed of the Village Marshal, who shall be designated the Chief of Police, up to three additional full-time officers, and up to 15 paid officers that shall be classified as part-time.
   (b)   Their appointment, tenure of office and removal from office shall be governed pursuant to and in conformity with the Ohio Revised Code Chapter 737.
   (c)   Police officers shall be under the general supervision, direction and control of the Police Chief and subject to his orders and discipline.  Discipline from the Police Chief will be subject to appeal and revocation by the Mayor and or Council.
   (d)   The Police Chief shall be under the immediate supervision and control of the Mayor who shall be the executive head of the Police Department.
   (e)   The Police Chief shall prescribe the hours and schedule of days during which police officers shall be on duty, but any and all police officers shall be subject to call for duty whenever an emergency arises.  All police officers will address and obey any lawful request of an elected official of the Village of Lowellville.
   (f)   Regular full-time members of the Police Department shall not be required to work more than forty hours in any one week except in cases of extraordinary emergencies caused by fire, flood or similar emergency conditions or necessary appearances in court.
   (g)   Rank structure within the Police Department will be determined by the Mayor and Police Chief with the advice and consent of Council.
   (h)   All police officers shall give bond in the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000) conditioned on their good behavior and faithful performance of their office.
