147.01 ANSWERING EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE CALLS.
   (a)   The Police Department is hereby authorized to render mutual assistance to the safety forces of neighboring communities in the event emergencies arise. Such mutual assistance shall be rendered only in those cases which are classes as extraordinary, unusual and could be determined as most urgent to the protection of life and welfare.
   (b)   In order to protect the members of the Police Department in the rendition of such service beyond the Village boundaries, the Clerk-Treasurer shall certify a copy of this section to the Industrial Commission of the State of Ohio and he shall in all cases extend the benefits of the Industrial Commission Act to all members of the Lowellville Police Department who may be called upon to render the services defined herein.
