(a) Council deems it necessary to have railway crossings located in whole or in part in the Village and owned, possessed, and operated by an individual, company, association, or corporation to be lighted and futhermore requiring such individual, company, associate, or corporation to light such crossing within a six month period from date of passage of this ordinance. This ordinance does not require such railway or portion thereof to be lighted with electric arc lights.
(b) The Village, by civil action, may recover from an engineer, conductor, or company violating this section, the amount of fifty dollars ($50.00) per day for each day of noncompliance with these provisions.
