§ 37.068 PAID BEREAVEMENT LEAVE.
   Full-time employees shall receive up to three days of paid leave upon the death of a spouse, brother, sister, son, daughter, mother, father, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchild, or any family member residing in the same household. Full-time employees shall receive up to two days of paid leave upon the death of a grandparent, brother-in-law or sister-in-law Full-time employees shall receive up to one day of paid leave upon the death of an aunt, uncle, niece, nephew or cousin. Paid bereavement leave up to one-half day will be granted in the case of the death of a co-employee in the requesting employee's department, if the requesting employee is scheduled to work from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the day of the co-employee's funeral. Sick leave or vacation leave can be utilized upon the approval of the employee's ultimate supervisor if further time off is necessary.
