The Mayor shall be the chief executive officer of the city, and as such, shall perform the following duties:
(A) Keep himself or herself informed as to the city’s business;
(B) Preside over the meetings of the City Council;
(C) Sign all contracts, ordinances, resolutions, franchises and all other documents as authorized by the City Council;
(D) Make recommendations to the City Council concerning the affairs of the city, as he or she deems necessary;
(E) Represent the city at ceremonies and other official occasions; and
(F) Perform other duties as authorized by the General Statutes, the City Charter and this code.
