The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this subchapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning.
GOLF CART. A vehicle designed and manufactured for operation on a golf course for sporting or recreational purposes and that is not capable of exceeding speeds of 20 mph.
OPERATOR. A person in actual physical control of a golf cart or utility vehicle which is in motion or which has the engine running. The terms OPERATOR and DRIVER and their cognates are synonymous.
UTILITY VEHICLE. A vehicle designed and manufactured for general maintenance, security, recreational and landscaping purposes, but does not include vehicles designed and used primarily for the transportation of persons or property on a street or highway.
