§ 32.22 MUNICIPAL POLICE CHIEF.
   The City of Loup City is currently under contract with the County of Sherman, Nebraska, to provide municipal law enforcement services. Therefore, the Municipal Police Chief shall be the Sherman County Sheriff and said individual shall direct the police work of the municipality and shall be responsible for the maintenance of law and order. He or she shall act as Health Inspector except in the event the municipality appoints another person. He or she shall file the necessary complaints in cases arising out of violations of municipal ordinances, and shall make all necessary reports required by the municipal ordinances, or the laws of the State of Nebraska.
   Should the contract with Sherman County ever terminate and the City of Loup reinstate its own law enforcement agency, it shall amend this ordinance and put into place such necessary rules and regulations are then required by Nebraska state statute.
