§ 90.033 KILLING, POISONING AND INJURING UNLAWFUL.
   (A)   Except as otherwise provided in this subchapter, it shall be unlawful to kill or to administer, or cause to be administered, poison of any sort to a dog or cat, or in any manner to injure, maim or destroy or, in any manner, to attempt to injure, maim or destroy any dog or cat that is the property of another person, or to place any poison, or poisoned food where the same is accessible to a dog or cat.
   (B)   Any person who owns, harbors, or in any way sustains a dog that he or she wishes to be destroyed may place the same animal in the City Animal Shelter to be destroyed and disposed of according to the provisions herein. The cost to destroy the animal shall be at the owner's expense.
