(A) The Board shall consist of five volunteer members with no more than three members representing the same political party. Members shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Louisville Metro Council, shall have lived in Jefferson County for at least one year prior to appointment, and shall have demonstrated an interest in cemetery preservation, genealogy, local history or a related area.
(B) A member may be removed from office by the Mayor for misconduct, inefficiency, or willful neglect of duty. The Mayor must submit a written statement to the member setting forth the reasons for removal.
(C) Members shall serve without compensation, but shall be reimbursed for necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties subject to available funds and approval by the Board.
