Agencies of the Metro Government shall not dispose of or destroy public records except in accordance with the terms of KRS 171.410 through 171.740 and the disposition instructions of an agency's approved records retention schedule.
(A) The Technology Department shall provide agencies with records destruction forms and instructions in their use, to ensure that the appropriate procedures for the legal destruction of public records are followed.
(B) The Technology Department shall review in advance any destruction of records scheduled to occur from an agency.
(C) Records destructions completed from the Metro Government's records storage facility shall be reviewed and approved in advance by the head of creating agency.
