The purpose of this subchapter is to grant to certain officers and employees of the Metro Government indemnification for claims made against them for the good faith performance of their official duties. Furthermore, it is declared that in consideration of the good faith performance by officers and employees of the Metro Government of their official duties that this subchapter shall constitute an inviolable contract within the Metro Government, and the benefit provided herein shall not be subject to reduction or impairment by alteration, amendment, or repeal.
