§ 35.053 AUTHORITY AND DUTY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT TO BARGAIN COLLECTIVELY.
The Metro Government by and through the Mayor or his or her designee shall have the authority and the duty to bargain collectively with the exclusive representatives of its employees. For the purpose of this subchapter, to bargain collectively is the performance of the mutual obligation of the employer and the exclusive representative of local government employees to meet at reasonable times, to negotiate in good faith with respect to wages, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment, to negotiate an agreement and to execute a written contract incorporating such agreement. Such obligation shall not compel either party to agree to any proposal or require the making of a concession.
