(A) There is hereby continued a Metro Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. The Board shall be advisory in nature and will support the continued development of Metro Government's parks and recreation programs.
(B) The Board may adopt bylaws and such other rules and regulations as may be necessary to its operations.
(C) The Board shall consist of nine members, appointed by and serving at the pleasure of the Mayor. All members shall serve terms of three years. In the event of a vacancy, the Mayor shall appoint a new member to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the unexpired term.
(D) The Director of Metro Parks may, at the request of the Board, provide such personnel as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of the Board. These employees shall be under the direction of the Director of Metro Parks.
(E) Each member of the Board shall be at least 18 years of age and reside within Jefferson County. No member shall be an employee of the Metro Government.
(F) Members of the Board shall serve without compensation, but shall be reimbursed for necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties subject to available funds.
