The Louisville Metro Housing Authority shall consist of the Mayor, or the Mayor’s designee, and eight other persons appointed by the Mayor, and approved by the Council. Each person appointed shall be at least 25 years of age and a bona fide resident of Jefferson County. The members initially serving shall include the incumbent members of the Housing Authority of Jefferson County and the Housing Authority of Louisville and they shall continue to serve as members of the Louisville Metro Housing Authority for the time remaining of their current term of appointment. The remaining vacancies shall be filled by the Mayor for staggered terms, two shall be appointed for a one-year term, two for a two-year term and one for a three-year term. Thereafter, the term of office for all members, other than the Mayor or the Mayor’s designee, shall be three years and until the member’s successor is appointed and qualified.
