The compensation of the members of the Civil Service Board is fixed as follows: Each member of the Civil Service Board shall receive $50 for each day upon which he or she attends a meeting or hearing of the Board. The amount received for such meetings and hearings shall not exceed to the Board as a whole the sum of $10,800 in any fiscal year. Compensation for each member shall be paid monthly.
