(A) The Commander of the Company shall be designated by the members of the Fire Company and the Council as the Fire Chief of the town and, as such, shall exercise the powers and discharge the duties of fire chiefs and shall, with the consent of the Council and members of the Fire Company, formulate rules and regulations for the Fire Company and for carrying out the purposes of fire prevention and extinguishment, shall make inspections and reports required by law and shall do generally all things required of fire chiefs.
(B) The Commanders of the Fire Company shall exercise the authority of a fire chief at all fires and shall designate any person or persons to act as an assistant or assistants.
