The identified special flood hazard areas shall be those areas of the town which are subject to the 100-year flood, as shown on the flood insurance rate map (FIRM) and described in the flood insurance study (FIS) prepared for the town by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) dated October 2, 2012, or the most recent revision thereof, including all digital data developed as part of the FIS. The identified special flood hazard areas shall also be those special flood hazard areas identified by the town by use of historic or other technical data and shown on an officially recognized “local flood hazards map.” These areas shall be designated, as appropriate, with the level of technical data described below and shall be managed accordingly.
