It shall be a violation of this chapter for any person to park a vehicle in the parking meter zones during the hours in which the parking restrictions of this chapter are effective, for a period longer than the maximum period of time indicated on the parking meter installed at the location where such vehicle is parked, or, if no parking meter is installed at such location, then for a period longer than the parking time limit indicated on an official sign posted at such location or in its immediate vicinity.
