337.221 WINDSHIELD STANDARDS.
   (a)   (1)   No person shall operate, on any street or other public or private property open to the public for vehicular travel or parking, a motor vehicle in which the use of transparent, nontransparent, translucent and reflectorized materials in or on the windshields, side windows, sideways and side windows that prevent a person of normal vision looking into the motor vehicle from seeing or identifying persons or objects inside the motor vehicle.
      (2)   The front windshield must have a light transmittance level of not less than seventy percent (70%) and the side and rear windows must have a light transmittance level of not less than fifty percent (50%).
   (b)   This section does not apply to:
      (1)   Manufacturer’s tint on multipurpose vehicles, vehicles designed to carry ten persons or less which are constructed on a truck chassis or with special features for off road operation including: truck, vans, or mini vans, jeeps, recreational vehicles and four wheel drive vehicles on a truck chassis.
      (2)   Limousines for hire (i.e. not privately owned personal vehicles).
      (3)   Persons who carry a physicians affidavit with them while operating their vehicle which states because of a medical condition they are required to have tint which is not in compliance with our standards.
      (4)   A hearse or other vehicle used to transport corpses.
      (5)   Semitrucks, tractor trailers rigs, commercial buses, mass transit vehicles, school buses, farm vehicles, motorcycles, mopeds, construction vehicles, sun roofs or T-tops.
   (c)   No motor vehicle shall have windows tinted with a reflectorized tint.
   (d)   All motor vehicles equipped with blinds, curtains or louvers shall have the same open during vehicle operation.

   (e)   Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on a second offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; on each subsequent offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
