1507.24 INSTALLATION STANDARDS.
   (a)    Conformity with Regulations. All installations of electrical wiring and equipment for lighting, heating, signal or power shall be made in strict accordance with the provisions of this Electrical Code and any orders, rules and regulations issued by authority thereof. Where no specific standards are prescribed by this Electrical Code or by any orders or statutes of the State, the regulations of the Ohio Basic Building Code for safety of persons and property shall be required under this Electrical Code. Conformity with the regulations set forth by the latest National Electrical Code, as approved by the American Standards Association, except as modified herein, shall be prima-facie evidence of conformity with approved standards for safety of persons and property.
   (b)   Wiring Methods. Wiring shall be installed in approved metallic raceway in all institutional, commercial and industrial structures.
Exception No. 1. One, two and three family residences (see residential wiring regulations, Section 1507.29.)
Exception No. 2. Underground installation, exclusive of installations made under paving, buildings or other structures.
   (c)   Conductors for Earth Burial. Type USE and UF conductors may be used for direct earth burial, in accordance with any current edition of the National Electrical Code requirement, where not subject to mechanical injury. Where considered necessary by the Electrical Inspection Department, supplementary mechanical protection such as covering board, concrete pad and/or raceway may be required.
   (d)    Conduits. Any conduit installed in concrete or below grade shall be three-fourths inch minimum grade size galvanized rigid conduit.
   (e)    Wire Size for Over 50 Volts. Minimum wire size for all installations carrying fifty volts or over shall be No. 12, except that No. 14 may be used for general lighting circuits in one, two and three-family dwelling houses.
