All electrical material, devices, fixtures, appliances, illuminated signs and other equipment used or installed in the City shall be of a type approved by the Board of Electrical Standards.
Unless specifically disapproved by formal action of the Board of Electrical Standards, electrical materials, devices, fixtures, appliances, illuminated signs and other equipment that bear the label of approval of the Underwriters' Laboratories, Inc., or other accredited agency, shall be deemed approved by the Board.
Old or secondhand material and equipment shall not be installed or used unless approved as safe by the Electrical Inspection Department.
