(a) Under the provisions of Ohio R.C. 731.231, there is adopted by the City, for the purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions to safeguard persons and property from the hazards arising from the use of electrical energy, the National Electrical Code, recommended by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA #71-2002 Edition and all subsequent editions thereafter) save and except such portions as may hereinafter be deleted, modified or amended.

(b) A complete copy of such Code shall be kept on file at the office of the Clerk of Council, the County Law Library and the City Electrician's office. The Clerk of Council shall keep copies available for distribution to the public at cost.
(c) For the purposes of the Codified Ordinances of the City, this section will become a part of this chapter and from the date such National Electrical Code shall take effect, the provisions thereof, except as are deleted, modified or amended, shall be controlling within the City.
