The object and purpose of this Electrical Code is to safeguard persons and property from hazards arising from the use of electrical energy by establishing and adopting minimum standards for the installation and maintenance of electrical systems, and further, to provide for the qualifying and licensing of electrical contractors, the issuance of permits and collection of fees, inspection and approval of material, equipment and installations and administration and enforcement of the provisions and regulations contained herein.
