(a) No person or organization, other than the Lorain Police Department and Lorain Auxiliary Police, shall wear or carry a uniform, apparel, badge, identification card, or any other insignia of office, like or similar to, or any colorable imitation which may be readily mistaken for that adopted and worn or carried by the Lorain Police Department and Lorain Auxiliary Police.
(b) No person or organization, other than the Lorain Police Department and Lorain Auxiliary Police, shall use the word “Police” within their official name or display the word “Police” on the uniforms, apparel, badges, identification cards, or other insignia of office, or the vehicles used by such person or organization.
(c) A violation of this section shall be a minor misdemeanor punishable in accordance with Section 501.99(a) and (b) of the Codified Ordinances.
